New borough team to help battle the bulge
A new healthy weight team has been established to help overweight and obese people get back into shape.
Working for NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale and Pennine Acute Hospitals Trust, the team of dietitians and dietetic assistants will raise awareness of the benefits of moving towards and maintaining a healthier weight and support people in the process. They can be found in clinics, communities and workplaces and work with children and families and adults, in one-to-one and group settings.

Stop-smoking hypnotherapy available in Heywood
Smokers in Heywood will be able to kick the habit by having hypnotherapy sessions, as part of a pilot scheme funded by NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale (NHSHMR), and New Heart for Heywood.
Elizabeth Riches is a local qualified hypnotherapist who will provide the service. From March, the programme will run on Mondays and Tuesdays, based at the Woodlands Centre on Regent Street and Derby Street Children’s Centre. Patients will be referred on to it through the local stop smoking service, TASK (Think, Act, Stop, Kick).
